Michelle L. Brown spent most of her growing up years in small town Oklahoma, devouring books such as Harriet the Spy and How to Eat Fried Worms. She now lives just north of the border in Kansas.

Michelle’s publishing credits include
Highlights for Children, Chess Life for Kids, Story Something, Hisstories, BRIO, Relatemag.com, Stories for Children, Characters, Bumples, Take 5 + assignment writer and staff writer for knowonder!. She’s won several writing awards for her humorous middle-grade fiction, most notably Highlights Author of the Month, January 2011, February 2010, and Highlights 2009 Fiction Contest Winner.

Michelle and her husband, Bob, also write plays and musicals, and Michelle is resident playwright for her local children’s theater. Their musical
Rockin’ R Roundup or The Ballad of Ropin’ Hood and His Band of Prairie Men was a finalist in the 2008 Jackie White Memorial Children’s Playwriting Contest. The one-time music theater major says her big family supplies her with all the comedy and drama she needs.
